My Word for 2021
I spent the last few weeks thinking and praying about what I wanted my word for 2021 to be... last year I chose the word intentional. Last year was the first time I ever chose a word for the year and I really enjoyed the process of it and starting the year with some direction!
My word for 2021 is... *drum roll please*...
MORE
more water
more time in my bible
more creating
more sleep
more board games
more blogging
more connection
more giving of myself
more podcasts
more bread making
more intentional time with Shane
more decluttering
more time around the table with the kids
more movement
more time outside
more dancing
more playing with the kids
more reading
more freezer cooking
more hugs
more patience
more focus on homemaking
more green things
more self care
I truly don’t believe that 2020 was a bad year, at least not for us. It was a very hard year at points, but there was still SO much about it that was amazing! Just like one little thing doesn’t make the whole day bad, a whole year isn’t bad because some of it was hard! Looking forward to 2021, I want to focus on more of what matters, more of what fills my cup, and more of what draws me closer to Jesus!
I feel like my initial response, when thinking of what I wanted in 2021, was what I wanted less of, but I feel like that put me in a negative mindset, instead of a positive one. And Lord knows we could all benefit from a positive mindset going into this year! 🙃 My goal for this new year is to turn my attention to the good, joyous, fruitful, lovely things that I can fill my days with! Instead of setting specific goals, that will undoubtedly just make me feel stressed from the pressure to achieve them, I decided that I would instead focus on how I can do more of something! There is always more to be grateful for and I look forward to another year of filling my days with more!
Until I blog again,
Alex
