Ah, February... January seemed to last foreveeerrr and February is just flying by! We've been having some pretty cold weather here and so we're making the most of cozy nights by the fire. Here is a round up of what I'm enjoying this month...
Watching: When Calls the Heart - This sweet show is set in Alberta, filmed in British Columbia (where both my hubby and I were born), and has just enough early 1900's mountie "action" to keep my hubby entertained. Netflix + Hallmark = my idea of a good night!
Reading: Chip Gaines' Capital Gaines - My hubby knows me SO well and gifted this to me for Christmas! I am a big fan of anything Chip and Jojo touch and this book is no different. You can just hear Chip's voice as he recounts hilarious stories and I love how he's not afraid to talk about God. Throw in some super solid advice and it's two thumbs up from me.
Listening To: Love Remains by Hillary Scott & the Scott Family - I sure do love me some twangy country music, and I've been working on being more mindful of what we are listening to, so this is a perfect choice. My favourite tracks are "Ain't No Grave" and "The River (Come on Down)." I use Apple Music but I might also buy the cd to keep in our van.
Eating: Chilli & Cornbread - on repeat! Seriously though, we've had this for dinner at least five or six times in the past two weeks. Totally acceptable, right?! I typically just wing my chilli but my whole family is obsessed with the Sweet Cornbread from Holly at Life in the Lofthouse. You can find the recipe here.
Sipping: Coffee! - so. much. coffee. Between potty training (at night!), sickness, and house projects, some seasons of life seem to run on more coffee than others. I've recently started drinking the PC Organics Medium Dark Roast and I actually really enjoying it. It is several dollars cheaper than what I typically drink but it is still organic and free trade, both very important to this crunchy mama.
Wanting: Skip Hop's Greenwich Simply Chic Diaper Backpack (Black) - I *know* that I'm not currently in the little baby stage and could branch away from a diaper bag, but I gotta admit, I really appreciate how organized they keep things. Plus, I'm really digging the idea of a backpack to keep things hands-free. I have done my research, y'all, and I love how this one has stroller straps, a nice "mama pocket" at the front, and has similar styling to the Fawn Design bag, but without the hefty price tag. Hmm... Mama might have to get it...
Ordering: Old Navy's Tencel® Utility Shirt - This simple, button up has my name written all over it! (Not really - that would be super weird!) It might not be plaid but I think I can give it a try ;) Fun fact: I just learnt that Tencel® is a sustainable fabric, regenerated from wood cellulose. This shirt is available in two colours, matcha green and teak rose, and I think I might just order both!
