26 Week Bumpdate

26 Week Bumpdate

I honestly can’t believe we’re at the 26 week mark already! I know everyone talks about how fast these things go, but it’s SO true! And I think the more children you have, the faster it seems to go; I think its largely due to the fact that one is busier and not as focused on just being pregnant! lol

I had another midwife appointment today - it’s always fun to hear baby’s heartbeat! And baby is already heads down so that is a good sign, although I’m sure that will keep changing. I think this might be the most active baby we’ve had because I feel just so many kicks and rolls during the day (and night!).

Feeling

I am feeling better overall and not dealing with as much nausea as before. My hips have been pretty stiff but I think that’s a third pregnancy thing; my back actually has barely been sore and, since I have scoliosis, this feels like a huge win to me!! I’m definitely still tired but I’ve been having a nap or quiet time most afternoons and that has been wonderful!

Doing

In the last few weeks, I’ve been trying to be more intentional with getting our little nursery nook in the corner of our master bedroom tidied up. I wanted to get that done while I still have a bit more energy! I’ve also been trying to figure out what we still need so I’m not scrambling last minute… Although, I definitely feel much more relaxed about it all the third time around! Most things are only a one day Amazon delivery away anyway ;)

Wearing

I finally broke down and ordered some maternity clothes and now I’m crazy excited about them! It went from not being that big of a deal to being very necessary so they’re arriving just in the nick of time! LOL I got my first batch of clothes in the mail today - they’re actually non-maternity - from Aerie… to be honest they’re not the most flattering clothes I own but they are definitely the most comfortable! I have a few pairs of jeans and a few tops that should be arriving from Old Navy this week and I’m hoping that will get me through!

I finally pulled the trigger and bought a pair of Blundstones because my winter boots, though nice and warm, we’re just feeling too heavy. I’m highly looking forward to Birkenstock season because putting on shoes at this point is a lot of work! And I’d prefer to be done with coats too! ;)

It feels pretty crazy to me that I’ll be out of the second trimester soon… There’s just over 3 months until baby is due and while that seems like a decent chunk of time, I know it will be here before we know it! I’m really leaning into enjoying this slower season of our lives and naps and curling up on my bed with the kiddos!

Until I blog again,

Alex

P.S. Does your ultrasound clinic still print pictures? Mine does not! 🙈 I can take a picture or have a disc, but I own nothing that I could put a disk in! Oh the modern way.
