The Week I Had "Me Time" - EVERYDAY!!
Let me start by saying, that I am not sharing the following to brag...
As a homeschooling mama, it isn't that common for me to get time utterly and completely to myself... This week took me a bit by surprise because, honestly, it didn't dawn on me until the week before that having both the kids in VBS meant that I would have alllll that time to myself! lol #mombrain
Here is a little diary of my week...
I WENT SHOPPING
Shopping isn't always the highest up on my priority list but I do enjoy getting to do this by myself! Plus, I needed a few things for family pictures so I enjoy this two and a half hours of shopping and a good coffee! I went to Old Navy because I'm a creature of habit and "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
I WENT TO HOT YOGA
And it was AH-MAY-ZING!! I did the 75 minute hot yin class at Moksha Yoga in Sherwood Park and I feel like it transformed my whole week! I was initially a little nervous about the heat, having only ever done warn yoga before, but it actually felt incredible! Oh, and I was a little worried about being completely alone with my own thoughts for that long but that turned out incredible too! ;)
I GOT A SMOOTHIE IN PEACE
Although a green juice seemed like the obvious choice after hot yoga, I opted not to have one. I was able to quickly pop in to the new Freshlli in Sherwood Park and try a smoothie and even just being able to run in somewhere for food felt like a treat!
I WENT TO THE SPA
And it was perfect!! I got a body scrub and a pedicure... This was the first every body scrub I have had and it was everything I could have hoped for!
I HAD TIME WITH MY HUBBY
Even it was just packing up the suitcases and some clothes shopping in town, it is always such a treat to be able to sneak in some kid free time.
I LEARNT SOMETHING VERY TRANSFORMATIONAL...
I need to plan this again for next year! OK, maybe that's not the biggest revelation but, sometimes us mamas need to plan waaaayyyy in advance for experiences like this. Honestly, even though it was a super busy week for us as a family, I felt totally recharged from this little break! While I had a great time, with a bit more advanced planning, I think I could have really made the most of it!
Until next time...
